Move your recipes from Paprika to TeAvon
Two parts: first save a copy of your recipes from Paprika, then hand that file to TeAvon. Nothing is removed from Paprika. Photos, categories, notes and source links come along.

Part 1: Save your recipes from Paprika
Paprika calls this Export. Pick the device you use Paprika on. When Paprika asks which format, always choose Paprika Recipe Format: that produces one file ending in.paprikarecipeswith everything inside. The other option, HTML, is a folder of web pages that TeAvon cannot read.
iPhone or iPad
- Open Paprika.
- Tap the Settings gear (bottom right on iPhone, in the sidebar on iPad).
- Tap Export Recipes.
- Leave the category on All Recipes so every recipe is included.
- Choose Paprika Recipe Format, then tap Export.
- When the share sheet appears, tap Save to Files, pick iCloud Drive (or On My iPhone), and tap Save. Remember where you saved it: that is the file you will pick in Part 2.
Older versions of Paprika save the file inside the app instead of showing the share sheet. If you see no share sheet, update Paprika from the App Store and export again. Paprika's own guide: paprikaapp.com/help/ios.
Mac
- Open Paprika on your Mac.
- In the menu bar choose File, then Export.
- Pick the folder to save into (your Desktop is easiest to find later).
- Leave the category on All Recipes.
- Choose Paprika Recipe Format and click Export.

Android phone or tablet
- Open Paprika.
- Open the Settings panel.
- Tap Export Recipes.
- Leave the category on All Recipes.
- Choose Paprika Recipe Format and tap Export.
- The file lands in your device's Downloads folder.

Windows PC
- Open Paprika.
- In the menu bar choose File, then Export.
- Pick the folder to save into.
- Leave the category on All Recipes.
- Choose Paprika Recipe Format and click Export.

Part 2: Bring the file into TeAvon
Do this on the device where you saved the file. On an iPhone that is the same phone; on a computer, use TeAvon in the browser at teavon.co.
- Open TeAvon and sign in.
- Open Settings (the gear in the top bar).
- Find Import from another app and tap Choose file.
- Pick the file you saved in Part 1. It ends in .paprikarecipes. On iPhone, look in Files under iCloud Drive or On My iPhone.
- Wait for the upload bar to finish, then leave the page open or come back later: the import continues on our side.
- When it says Done, tap Open cookbook. Your recipes are there with their photos.
What to expect
- Your recipes appear in your cookbook as they finish. You can leave the page or close the app; the import keeps going.
- Running the same file again is safe: recipes already in your cookbook are skipped, not duplicated.
If something does not look right
- "That does not look like a Paprika export": the file must end in .paprikarecipes. If you exported HTML, go back to Part 1 and choose Paprika Recipe Format.
- Cannot find the file on iPhone: open the Files app, tap Browse, then look in iCloud Drive, On My iPhone, and the Paprika folder.
- The button is greyed out: an import is still running for your household. Wait for it to finish.
- Anything else: tell us what you saw and what you expected on the support page. Say which step you were on; that is the most useful thing you can send.
